Island of Šćedro is since 1968. protected by the category of significant landscape.

The island is located between Korcula and Hvar. Half an hour away by speedboat is an ideal location for a day trip from Vela Luka. The island is perfect for all those who want to spend a quiet day at sea, visit the island, take a walk in nature, swim at beautiful beaches. The beaches are ideal for families with children, but also for all lovers of cultural heritage due to archaeological sites and the old Benedictine monastery which is located very near the beach. Few restaurants there are open during summer months, they offers local food, fresh fish and good homemade wines.
